Is P2.6 Sharp Enough for Close Viewing? (And the Modules and Driver You Need)
A customer planning a 1000 mm wide × 2000 mm high display told us people will get very close to it, and asked a genuinely sharp set of questions: is P2.6 fine enough up close, are 500×500 or 500×1000 modules better, what driver do they need, and what pixel resolution will they actually get? Is P2.6 sharp enough up close?
A useful rule is that the comfortable minimum viewing distance in metres roughly equals the pixel pitch in millimetres. So P2.6 looks clean from about 2.6 m back. If people stand closer than that — within arm’s reach, leaning in to read fine detail — they may start to see individual pixels, and a finer pitch (P1.5–P2) will look noticeably crisper. If most viewers are 2.6 m or further, P2.6 is fine and more economical.

500 × 500 or 500 × 1000 modules?
Both work for a 1000 × 2000 mm wall — it is mostly about the grid. With 500 × 500 cabinets you build a 2-wide × 4-high grid (8 modules); with 500 × 1000 cabinets, a 2-wide × 2-high grid (4 modules). 500 × 500 is the more universal, widely stocked size and gives finer control over the final dimensions and serviceability; 500 × 1000 means fewer modules to assemble. For a tall, close-viewed wall we usually suggest 500 × 500 for flexibility, but either is fine — we confirm based on the exact pitch and panel series.

A screen is not just panels: each cabinet has a receiving card inside it, and the whole wall is driven by a sending controller (the “driver” you mentioned). For a 2 m² indoor wall like this, a single sending card or a compact all-in-one controller is plenty — it takes your video source (HDMI/USB), maps it across the cabinets and handles brightness and scaling. We supply and pre-configure the controller with the screen so it works out of the box; you do not have to source or set it up separately.
